“Queer' not as being about who you're having sex with (that can be a dimension of it); but 'queer' as being about the self that is at odds with everything around it and that has to invent and create and find a place to speak and to thrive and to live.”

― bell hooks

In my practice, I center queer and trans* clients in the hopes of supporting their journey, their enrichment, and ongoing access to affirming care.

Many therapy providers position themselves as allies: an open and supportive place for LGBTQIA2S+/queer identifying clients. This does not always guarantee competent, culturally sensitive, well-educated therapists, nor the safety of queer and trans* clients. It is equally important to be able to show up to therapy as your full self. I hope to cultivate a space where that is possible, where we can relish in the best parts of queer and trans* joy as well as identify safety, resources, and needs for surviving a threatening sociopolitical climate.

As a trauma-informed, queer, and multiracial therapist, your safety and comfort is important to me. I invite us to take our time in creating a safer space for you to explore and process.

You can expect this space to be affirming of/allied with:

  • Neurodivergence

  • HIV+ / AIDS

  • Disability / Chronic Illness

  • All body types

  • Honoring of various spiritual practices

  • Racially and culturally diverse backgrounds

  • Polyamory / CNM / ENM

  • ACE / ARO individuals and relationships

  • Sex positive

  • Kink / BDSM

In line with my beliefs that gender affirming care should be readily available to all who need it, I offer single session gender assessments for letters of readiness for gender affirming procedures, writing the letter of readiness with in 1 week of our meeting. It is my hopes by offering this that I can help reduce the barriers that queer and trans* individuals face in trying to access their healthcare needs.
